<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">We&#x20;propose&#x20;an&#x20;inverse&#x20;design&#x20;approach&#x20;for&#x20;lithium&#x20;niobate&#x20;(LiNbO₃)&#x20;integrated&#x20;photonics&#x20;element.&#x20;Free-formed&#x20;LiNbO₃&#x20;mode&#x20;converters&#x20;are&#x20;optimized&#x20;with&#x20;fabrication&#x20;constraints&#x20;of&#x20;thick&#x20;nonlinear&#x20;photonic.&#x20;With&#x20;the&#x20;proposed&#x20;devices,&#x20;we&#x20;experimentally&#x20;demonstrate&#x20;second-order&#x20;nonlinear&#x20;effects.</dcvalue>
