<dcvalue element="description" qualifier="abstract">Strain&#x20;wave&#x20;gears&#x20;are&#x20;essential&#x20;for&#x20;precision&#x20;systems&#x20;requiring&#x20;high&#x20;reduction&#x20;ratios&#x20;in&#x20;compact&#x20;forms,&#x20;yet&#x20;conventional&#x20;cup-type&#x20;designs&#x20;face&#x20;axial&#x20;length&#x20;limitations.&#x20;This&#x20;study&#x20;presents&#x20;a&#x20;comprehensive&#x20;mechanical&#x20;analysis&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;Plate&#x20;Harmonic&#x20;Reducer&#x20;(PHR)&#x20;to&#x20;address&#x20;these&#x20;constraints.&#x20;We&#x20;investigated&#x20;the&#x20;thickness-performance&#x20;relationship&#x20;through&#x20;analytical&#x20;modeling&#x20;based&#x20;on&#x20;Kirchhoff-Love&#x20;plate&#x20;theory,&#x20;nonlinear&#x20;finite&#x20;element&#x20;simulations,&#x20;and&#x20;experimental&#x20;validation.&#x20;The&#x20;analysis&#x20;confirmed&#x20;a&#x20;cubic&#x20;dependence&#x20;of&#x20;deformation&#x20;force&#x20;on&#x20;thickness,&#x20;while&#x20;sensitivity&#x20;analysis&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;contact&#x20;conditions&#x20;validated&#x20;the&#x20;robustness&#x20;of&#x20;the&#x20;proposed&#x20;model.&#x20;Experimental&#x20;results&#x20;demonstrated&#x20;that&#x20;the&#x20;ultra-thin&#x20;configuration&#x20;(0.4&#x20;mm)&#x20;achieves&#x20;a&#x20;transmission&#x20;efficiency&#x20;of&#x20;68.88&#x20;%-comparable&#x20;to&#x20;commercial&#x20;units-while&#x20;reducing&#x20;axial&#x20;thickness&#x20;by&#x20;40.3&#x20;%&#x20;and&#x20;weight&#x20;by&#x20;27.2&#x20;%.&#x20;Crucially,&#x20;this&#x20;improvement&#x20;presents&#x20;a&#x20;quantifiable&#x20;design&#x20;trade-off:&#x20;while&#x20;thinner&#x20;plates&#x20;maximize&#x20;efficiency,&#x20;they&#x20;compromise&#x20;torsional&#x20;stiffness&#x20;(decreasing&#x20;from&#x20;141.03&#x20;Nm&#x2F;rad&#x20;at&#x20;1.2&#x20;mm&#x20;to&#x20;62.25&#x20;Nm&#x2F;rad&#x20;at&#x20;0.4&#x20;mm).&#x20;These&#x20;findings&#x20;provide&#x20;validated&#x20;guidelines&#x20;for&#x20;optimizing&#x20;PHR&#x20;specifications&#x20;for&#x20;space-constrained&#x20;applications&#x20;in&#x20;robotics&#x20;and&#x20;portable&#x20;instrumentation.</dcvalue>
