Authors: Ahn, Sang Hyun; Kim, Soo-Kil; Kwon, Oh Joong; Hwang, Sun-Mi; Kim, Jae Jeong
Abstract: The Pt-Ru-Co ternary catalyst was prepared on the carbon paper with electrodeposition and galvanic displacement. The carbon paper without PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) was used as the substrate for catalyst deposition. The catalyst was prepared with Co electrodeposition on carbon paper through the change of deposition potential and time. The Co nucleation on carbon paper was investigated by using the electrochemical techniques of linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Then Pt and Ru galvanic displacement were carried out by control of displacement time. Consequently, the Pt-Ru-Co ternary catalyst was successfully formed using electrodeposition and galvanic displacement, and it showed competitive catalytic activity compared to other reported results in electrochemical analysis.

Authors: Chun, Myung-Suk; Lee, Duck-Eui; Kim, Chongyoup
Abstract: A coarse-grained modeling is based on the finitely extendable nonlinear elastic (FENE) spring with long-range electrostatic and hydrodynamic interactions between pairs of beads, where both flexible and semiflexible chains are developed. We also consider steric and electrostatic interactions between the bead and the confining walls of different charge condition. Brownian dynamics simulations with the xanthan polyelectrolyte in bulk solutions and under confinement in a slit channel revealed an interesting crossover behavior from the 3D chain to a 2D one. For experimental verifications, single molecule visualization is performed on fluorescently labeled xanthan using an inverted epifluorescence microscope. Both the conformation and diffusivity of single xanthan molecules are characterized with variations of the chain confinement and solution environments. We discuss the scaling predictions to describe the source of the observed free-draining diffusion dynamics.

Authors: Rhee, Sang Keun; Lee, Jihye; Park, Myon-Woong
Abstract: During a collaborative research project, each member's knowledge and progress need to be managed and shared with other members. For effective knowledge sharing, each member needs to be able to express their own knowledge within the given project context and easily find and understand other members' knowledge. In this paper, we present our RIKI prototype that supports group communication and knowledge sharing in research projects via the Wiki-based platform. The main aim of RIKI implementation is to manage the shared knowledge semantically and to provide users with straightforward access to necessary information.
