- Abstract
- A simulation method of color moires appearing at contact-type 3-D displays where the alignment direction of the elemental optics in the viewing zone forming optics (VZFO) is not parallel to either the vertical or horizontal pixel lines in a display panel, is introduced. The simulation is based on the assumption that since the panel is viewed through the VZFO, the colors of the sub-pixels which are blocked by the boundary lines between the elemental optics become darker as the blocked area increases. This blocking induces a periodic color change, i.e., color moires in the image viewed through the VZFO. The validity of this assumption is proved experimentally for an angle range of the alignment directions, 0 degrees to 45 degrees.
