Abstract
The characteristics of a waveguide-coupled bimetallic (WCBiM) chip for a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor in a fixed-angle mode were investigated to verify sensitivity enhancement. The narrower full width at half maximum of the reflectivity curve of the WCBiM chip resulted in a dramatic change in reflectance. The configuration of the WCBiM chip consists of a multilayer stack of Ag/Zns-SiO2/Au. The SPR resolution of the WCBiM chip in the fixed mode was enhanced. At a concentration of 1 pg/ml of bovine serum albumin, the output response of the WCBiM chip was about four times larger than that of a Au chip.
