Abstract
The crystallization kinetics of the Cu(43)Zr(43)A(17)Ag(7) (at.%) amorphous alloy was studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in the continuous heating and isothermal annealing modes. In the case of continuous heating, the activation energy for crystallization corresponding to the first exothermal peak was significantly lower than that of the second peak. The isothermal kinetic, analyzed using the John son-Mehl-Avrami equation, yielded values of the Avrami exponents in the range 1.74-2.64, which implied that the first crystallization was governed by a three-dimensional diffusion-controlled growth.
