- Abstract
- The formation mechanism of pyrochlore phase(s) in the calcination of complex B-site perovskite-type Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PMN) and Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 (PFN) perovskite powder was investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. It was found that the pyrochlore phase formed in MgNb2O6Pb 3O4 mixture was different from that formed in FeNbO 4/Pb3O4 mixture. The possible reaction sequence and mechanism were proposed in this paper.
