Abstract
One-directional pore arrays were obtained oil an anodic aluminum oxide template by roller-pressing prior to anodizing processes, independent of the specific anodization conditions. We could produce elliptical pore channels - even down to 30 nm wide - parallel to the AAO template surface. The nano-scaled linear pore arrays of these AAO templates were determined using a scanning electron microscope and air atomic force microscope. All the pores are elongated into an elliptical shape and aligned along one direction. Connecting pores along the direction of elongation makes some linear channels.
