Abstract
An all-optical AND gate is demonstrated for the first time by using the probe and pump signals as the multiple binary points in cross phase modulation (XPM). The probe signal as CW light with two distinctive intensities and the pump signal with maximum and minimum points of static transfer characteristics in XPM are utilized to perform the binary points of logic AND. Logic AND for return-to-zero signals at 20 Gbit/s is successfully demonstrated.
