Abstract
Mn-silicalite-1 (Mn5.2Si90.8O192) was synthesized from Mn2+ ion-exchanged magadiite. The characteristics of Mn-silicalite-1 were investigated using electron spin resonance, synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy and chemical analysis. The measurements indicate that Mn2+ ions replace Si in the silicalite-1 framework. The orthorhombic framework structure of calcined Mn-silicalite-1 has been determined. The space group is Pnma, with a = 20.1017(3) Angstrom, b = 19.8826(4) Angstrom, c = 13.3758(3), Angstrom. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
