Abstract
(R)-(-)-Diphenyl-(N-methylpiperidin-3-yl)methanol (3) derived from (+/-)-ethyl nipecotate catalyzed the enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to various aldehydes in good to moderate optical yield (40%-81%).
