Abstract
Noncritically phase-matched second harmonic generation (SHG) of 532-nm radition from 1064-nm in MgO-doped LiNbO3 has been investigated by using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. SHG conversion efficiencies were typically achieved as high as 50% with 2 mol% MgO-doped LiNbO3 at the warm phase-matching temperature. No photorefractive damage were found fur more than a-hour operation of SHG under fundamental power density of 32 MW/cm(2). The thermo-birefringence coefficient and the electro birefringence coefficient of SHG were calculated from the temperature phase-matching profile with the electric field.
