- Abstract
- The dielectric properties of NiO-doped Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3 (PMN-PT) were investigated. The dielectric maximum temperature increased with the amount of lead titanate (PT) but decreased with the content of NiO. The addition of NiO shifted Tεmax from 30 °C to -15 °C at 1 kHz in case of 95PMN-5PT. In the addition of 1 mol% NiO, Tεmax and dielectric constant decreased significantly. A high densification with 97% relative density and a low dielectric loss of 0.03% at room temperature were obtained in all of NiO-doped PMN-PT sintered at 950 °C. Especially, the addition of NiO between 4 and 8 mol% allowed a low temperature sintering at 900 °C or below.
