- Abstract
- A theoretical model for domain dynamics in magneto-optical recording is described. In this model, domain dynamics is interpreted in terms of a model comprising of initial magnetization reversal nucleation followed by a wall displacement process. Domain simulations are compared to experiments on a moving disk with a rectangular laser pulse, teardrop-like domains were reproduced and understood. Application of the model to control domain shape is discussed, and optimal shape of laser pulses was presented for mark edge recording.
