- Abstract
- In this study, we confirm the role of CeO2 in promoting the catalytic activity of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst, prepared using chemical vapor condensation (CVC)-TiO2 nanoparticles, and the effect of the V2O5-CeO2/CVC-TiO2 catalyst on the NH3-SCR of DeNOx with/without SO2 and water vapor process. The catalyst showed good SCR activity for NOx removal, and also exhibited enhanced SCR activity in the presence of SO2 and water vapor at low temperatures, significantly. In addition, the catalyst was characterized by various physicochemical analysis techniques. In summary, CeO2 existed in the amorphous (poor crystallinity) phase. The catalyst with added CeO2 contained more Ce3+ ions that provided more redox-active sites. CeO2 provided more surface chemisorbed oxygen, thus dramatically increasing reducibility, and more acid sites.
