- Abstract
- Conductive Polymer Composites (CPC) incorporating electrically conductive filler have been gaining attention as a promising alternative to metals for electromagnetic shielding application. This interest stems from their manifold benefits, including ease in production, reduced manufacturing expanses, and a notable advantage in terms of lightweight. Among various conductive fillers, the carbon fiber stands out for its dual role in augmenting both electrical conductivity and mechanical properties, leading to what is known as carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP).
This research investigates the impact of annealing on the mechanical characteristics of CFRP, simultaneously its enhanced electromagnetic shielding effectiveness across the X-band frequency range. Employing the numerical analysis and experimental method, we propose the assertion that annealing triggers a noticeable enhancement in both electrical and mechanical properties.
