Abstract
When a therapeutic laser is applied to the face skin of a patient, the patient could move by pain. To prevent this movement, the patient's head should be fixed by hands in conventional laser treatment methods. Therefore, when using an automated skin laser treatment with robot, a device for fixing the patient's head is required. Accordingly, a head fixation device has been developed in order to fix both temple area of the patient. The optimal fixing condition that could satisfy the patient was investigated by applying load of up to 40 N to the urethane foam pad part that comes in contact with the skin. As a result of this experiment, the optimal load condition was identified, and, with such condition, it is expected to prevent the instantaneous movement of the head during treatment without giving any discomfort to the patient.
