The CO2 conversion process to methanol via a reverse-water-gas-shift reaction (RWGSR) was developed, which was named CAMERE (Carbon Dioxide Hydrogen to form Methanol via Reverse Water Gas Shift Reaction) process. CAMERE process for the 5 kg/day methanol production was operated to get some kinetic data for the construction of a pilot plant for 100 kg methanol/day production. The activity of the ZnAl2O4 catalyst was slightly dependent on the reaction temperature and space velocity. The RWGSR carried out at above 873 K was so reductive that the conventional catalysts of Fe2O3/Cr2O3 and ZnO/Cr2O3 was reduced into metal and then, deactivated. The CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 was a commercial catalyst for the methanol production. The methanol yield were obtained in the reactant composition of CO/CO2/H2 = 0.6:1/0.4:1/2.4:1 in molar ratio. The CAMERE process consisted of RWGSR and methanol synthesis reaction.-
