Abstract
Chromium poisoning effect on cathode reaction was studied using impedance spectroscopy to illuminate the degradation process in SOFC cathode. In half-cell tests using chromium source, the cathode ASR drastically increases by limitation of surface reaction due to chromate deposition on cathode surface. On the other hand, when we use CoNi foam as a current collector, most of Cr is trapped on the Co-Ni foam and ASR deterioration is alleviated.
