dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we propose a hand and wrist detection method for unobtrusive hand gesture interactions without attaching any devices on a user's hand below a head mounted display (HMD). For the enabling unobtrusive hand gesture interactions below a HMD where locates in front of upper body area of a user, we mounted a depth camera under a HMD. In order to provide fast and accurate hand and wrist detection, the proposed system uses SVM using shape context features. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated and it showed that the proposed method provides fast and accurate unobtrusive hand gesture interactions with the HMD.-
