- Abstract
- Silicon thick films were coated by fullerene thin film using plasma assisted thermal evaporation technique at plasma power of 50 and 100 W. The fullerene coated silicon films were then used as anode materials of lithium secondary batteries. The coated electrodes demonstrated a lower initial irreversible capacity and a better interfacial property, as shown by the cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements and impedance analysis. It was attributed to the fullerene coating layer which could maintain the mechanical stability of electrodes by suppressing the side reaction with the electrolyte during the repeated charge-discharge tests.
