Extreme climate events such as drought, flood, typhoon and stormy rainfall are expected to leave an impact on urban society. According to the latest weather condition, urban planners and decision makers are also expected to make response to mitigate the sufferings associated with these extremes. In this situation, the need to change urban water management to become more sustainable is widely recognized. Urban rainwater harvesting management planning (URWHMP) is employing a renaissance for urban water plan and management, a new approach, using the URWEM will be developed under the climate change. It is for improving dwelling environments by adapting climate change as well as utility of available water by rainwater harvesting and flood control. This new paradigm provides a more realistic and reliable solutions for urban water problems such as flood and drought. Also, through several cases of the successful experience of several valuable projects which are performed by the rainwater harvesting center at Seoul National University, we suggest a value of URWHM. Finally, this paper concludes that the outcome of URWHM development will lead to better urban water plan and management practices for sustainable development in climate change-
