In situ tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium appeared to be a very efficient catalyst for dehydrogenative double silylation of bis- and tris(dichlorosilyl)-methanes with acetylenes to produce 1,1,3,3-tetrachloro-1,3-disilacyclopent-4-enes in fair to excellent yields (32.7-92.6%), depending upon the substituents R-1 and R-2 at alkynes or R at silanes.-
