Abstract
Highly aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) sheets have been successfully applied to a number of interesting devices because of their distinctive properties. In this paper, aligned CNT sheets were fabricated and their orientation-dependent impedance properties were investigated in detail. Perpendicularly aligned CNT sheets showed both resistive and capacitive responses, which differed from those of horizontally aligned CNT sheets. Moreover, CNT-CNT junction dominant electrical transport is discussed, and a new concept for a capacitive-impedance sensor is also demonstrated. This work contributes to better understanding of the orientation-dependent impedance characteristics of aligned CNT sheets, and should facilitate practical applications. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V.
