dc.description.abstractIn this work, we studied optical bistability in a three-section lambda /4-shifted DFB laser amplifier. We found that bistable switching of a lambda /4-shifted DFB laser amplifier can be achieved at a lower input power by making the grating period of the center section smaller. Similar results can be achieved by applying more current to the center electrode of a three-electrode device.-
