Abstract
A series of novel group 9 transition metal complexes containing a P,S-chelating ligand have been prepared. The bimetallic rhodium carbonyl complex is much more effective in catalyzing the carbonylation of methanol to acetic acid than the previously known catalyst, [RhI2(CO)(2)](-).
