dc.description.abstractA cytotoxic pennogenin glycoside, pennogenin 3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 -->4)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(l-->4)-[alpha-L-trhamnopyranosyl-(1 -->2)]-beta-o-glucopyranoside (1) was isolated from the whole herb of Majanthemum dilatatum. Compound 1 showed potent cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines.-
