Abstract
For the last several decades, lipids have been utilized to biosensing and bioassay applications as various structures, due to their biofunctionality and biocompatibility. Lipid structure which has been highly focused on is black lipid membrane (BLM) because it is suitable for ion channel activity evaluation. However, BLM could not be arrayed without residual organic solvent and has a limitation of the low surface area which causes the poor probability of protein reconstitution. In this work, we fabricated solvent-free 3D lipid structure array on Si microwells, which has high surface area and uniformity. Also, we showed high reactivity of the proposed structure to one of pore-forming proteins, α - hemolysin (α HL), compared with BLM. This platform will pave the new way for biosensing applications which require high reactivity and sensitivity to target molecules.
