- Abstract
- PURPOSE: Epilepsy is a disease that causes recurrent seizures without a specifc reason, reducing the quality of life and increasing the risk of injury during daily activities. In this study, we propose a closed-loop system based on transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS) and electrocorticography (ECoG) monitoring. This system modulates the stimulation protocol for state-dependent seizure control in a rodent epilepsy model, aiming for non-invasive control of seizures. To achieve this, we developed an artifact-minimized tFUS stimulation combined with ECoG recording, allowing precise monitoring of brain oscillations.
