- Abstract
- As the demand for carbon-neutral technology increases worldwide, GTL (Gas to Liquid) attracts future eco-friendly fuel. Steam CO2 reforming of methane (SCR) can be applied to produce hydrogen and syngas. However, carbon deposition is pointed out as a severe problem on Ni-based catalysts. For that reason, we aimed to develop a mixed Ni/MgO-SiC catalyst, providing catalytic activity and thermal conductivity under SCR reaction. This study MgO and SiC support made by the sol-gel method. Ni/MgO-SiC catalysts manufactured by the incipient wetness impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by N??2 physisorption, H2-TPR, XRD, and TGA analysis. The catalytic performance was evaluated in the fixed bed reactor under 750 ~ 850 ℃, 1bar condition. It was found that the catalyst mixed with SiC and MgO has shown enhanced catalytic performance than Ni/SiC catalyst.
