Abstract
Highly efficient and selective hydrogenolysis of CFC-113a (CF3CCl3) to produce HCFC-123 (CF3CHCl2) has been achieved through the use of Group VIII transition metal complexes. The catalytic activity observed was sensitive to solvents and to the structures of the metal complexes.
